Midway Specialty Care Center is now offering access to general and urgent healthcare. We are a patient’s main source for medical care, ideally providing continuity and integration of health care services. For symptoms from the flu to hypertension, Midway Primary Care has you covered.
The focus of primary care is to provide the patient with a broad spectrum of preventive and curative care over a period of time and to coordinate all the care that the patient receives. Most all patients with an HMO will need a referral from a primary care physician to see a specialist. Dr. Susan E. Zimmer serves as the medical director for our Primary Care Center at 3255 South US 1, Fort Pierce. Make an appointment today to get your annual check-up.
We accept most commercial insurances. Please call the office in advance to inquire if we take your insurance. We also accept Medicaid and Medicare. If you do not have insurance, ask for a self-payment option, using a sliding scale based on your household income and family size.

Having a primary care provider do annual checkups will keep you healthier. Primary Care, or Family Doctors, diagnose illnesses like the flu, diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as perform routine health screenings and counseling on lifestyle changes in an effort to prevent diseases from developing in the first place.
Our providers are experienced in treating patients with a life-long chronic illness or infection.
Additionally, it is important for family physicians to recognize complications of therapy and potential medication interactions for those living with a chronic disease. Primary Care expertise is critical in preventive care and management of chronic conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and renal disease, which have become increasingly important for aging individuals with chronic diseases like HIV infection.
